Could someone tell me how fast the Extreme Option does limit scans or conventional discovery? Say for example if I scan from 144-148MHz looking for active HAMS how long will it take to scan that spread.

On Conventional Discovery it's fast and only limited by QRM which can be Avoided (locked out) until the scan loop is continous. Of course breaking the scan segment into smaller bites of the band say 1~5 MHz at a session will speed things up more.

Using the default step size of 5 KHz, mine scans that range in just under 4 seconds (3.6 - 3.8).

Thank you guys, Going to be much better than using my ft-857d, especially for finding active repeaters when traveling and having the convenience of the CTCSS showing.

WILL IT SHOW THE CTCSS scanning ham repeaters?

Thanks
