• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

That sale is for the Programming Cable only. Not the software itself.

You would need to either contact Motorola, and try and get it, which is not easy and or find someone in your area that Programs that type of Radio.

So I take it no one has it to download or 3rd party software ?

There is no third party software for any of the Motorola products. You either obtain it directly from Motorola or get subjected to major issues from their lawyers for using their software obtained without a license. Even the products that are discontinued can cause problems for individuals. It's called intellectual property rights of the company.

Did you not read the sticky at the top of this forum?

Go buy it from Motorola. Expect to pay $265 or more for the CPS and another $50 to $100 for the proper cable. If that's too pricey, find someone locally who can program it for you. This is not a simple radio to program and there is a large learning curve to using the CPS well.

There are several folks on Ebay offering programming for $30 to $50 plus shipping.

I should note that NLA Motorola software is readily available online, and it's perfectly OK. HT1250 is not NLA, for some reason. I'm not sure why it's still available new. The software won't work on computers with OS' newer than Windows XP.

Your information is not quite accurate. The Professional series software was corrected at version 6.12 .05 to run in the Win 7 environment. The current version is 6.12.09.

And it's not "perfectly OK" as the software and the radios are still in current production. Running a bootleg copy of any CPS is risky.

The Pro series CPS covers the CDM750/1250/1550 and HT750/1150/1550 as well as some of the EX radios.
