If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello all

I recently purchased a HT1250 and have it set up the way I like. I ordered a speaker mic for it from ebay and it works, but I get the audio from both the speaker mic's speaker and the HT's speaker. Since the accessories are supposedly interchangeable with the Moto GP338 I hooked the speaker mic to my 338 and it works like it should, a.k.a. audio from only the speaker mic.

Any ideas why the HT might be giving audio from both?

Thanks.

First question, did you get an actual motorola mic, or a cheap chinese knock off?

It might be missing a pin on the mic that cuts off the radio speaker.

I bought two of them from a US listed seller on ebay and in the description it says:

Analog to Motorola Part # PMMN4021A, old part #HMN9052. This is a generic speaker microphone.

I'm assuming its probably a knock off now that I look at it. The second one I bought for a friend worked perfectly on his HT750 which is why I'm so confused that this one doesn't.

Thanks for your help.

PMMN4021A is a genuine Moto part number. In fact I have 2 of those. Try your friend's mic on your radio and see if it's any different. If it's not, it probably something in the programming of the radio. If it is, it must be the mic.
