First off I have no idea what you mean by this. Secondly since I think your trying to make sense that you are hearing hunters using radio frequencies not by the General FRS/GMRS UHF bubble pack frequencies. As well as boaters using non Maritime VHF frequencies..

Let me just state my own opinion on this... I too have heard boaters by the Jersey shore using secondary radios for private communications which isn't per se illegal. As long as they have a coast guard approved VHF maritime radio on board and it's functional it's legal. I have also heard hunters now using MURS frequencies as well as Motorola DTR radios while in the woods. I know some use the DTR radios cause I've hunted with a few guys who had private talkgroups setup on the DTR for hunting. Plus they liked the range/coverage better then any bubble pack radio could ever give anyone. It's not unheard of for people to use different radios in different bands to communicate. As long as their not pirating another persons frequency and or are licensed to use such frequencies it's legal.

Yea pretty much mostly for the weekly fcc license updates as some of the posted freqs for the local stuff is deprecated or licenses expired yet still listed etc... ... Is a great place to learn and get to see what is new in the radio world..... Looks like getting some of that northeast weather down here tomorrow, could be nice reminds me of Long Island....
