• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I'm hearing Hurst PD operating on Law I/O 1 on the FWRRS today. I monitor the interop TGs regularly and this is new to me - in fact it is VERY rare to hear routine ops on the interop TGs. I cannot pick up the Hurst system from my home, so I don't know if it's up and running or not. Does anyone know if Hurst if planning to join the FWRRS, or if they have always had this as a backup or something?

They were using it as a backup today, and have done so several times recently for some reason. I don't know if they're doing scheduled maintenance, or if a gremlin got them. I do seem to recall that they might become part of the FWRR system, but I could be remembering that incorrectly.
