What "codes" are you talking about? You need to remember this is not a scanner it is a two way radio and if not programmed correctly to prevent transmit you are putting first responders lives in danger and possibly facing federal charges for even accidentally transmitting.

Assuming in are in New York, that radio is not able to pick up Rockland County or Hatzolah

Hatzoloh is fully encrypted on both the county system and their new system. You will not be able to hear them, period.

Monsey FD operates on the county trunked system and UHF fireground frequencies along with everyone else.

and the E (dmrE)means it is encrypted and you will just hear computer noise of 1's and 0's.

In addition to the fact that 463.575 is encrypted, your Uv-5r can not receive DMR or any digital mode. It is an analog only device.

Okay thanks yes, i checked that 463.575 is a very busy transmitting channel. But all i hear is is crackles. so i need a new a new radio/scanner. what would you recommend that is for a good price?

it is encrypted. Long story short no one and i mean no one can listen to it unless you have a radio from the department. If you are looking for a overall nice digital scanner than can pickup pretty much everything i suggest the uniden SDS-100. I have one and it is amazing. It will pickup everything as long as it is not encrypted. No radio/scanner can DE-crypt a radio transmission

The captial "E" at the end indciated it is a encrypted frequency and can not be monitored. The "DMR" tells you what kind of digital system they are using

You will not find a DMR capable scanner for what a Baofeng cost the cheapest thing is a RTL-SDR dongle and a steep learning curve for the PC software to run it.

NO SCANNER can decode encrypted signals.

Consider a very expensive Uniden SDS series scanner and the DMR upgrade for it (Only Uniden scanners will trunk track)

Consider one of the several expensive Whistler scanner models that do DMR but do not truck track it.

Get a used DMR capable scanner on ebay such as a Pro-668 or GRE PSR-800 both must get or already have the legacy upgrade from whistler'

Get a whistler WS1080 or ws1088 or a ws1095
