I am looking to buy new IC-2300H marine version on Ebay or Alibaba. What is difference? I am thinking only difference is marine is unlocked. Sound correct? I doubt these radios are knockoffs but are ICOM surplus after discontinued.

If your plan is for RX only on marine VHF, it's probably just as easy to program the channels in as RX only and go with the standard 2 meter only model that you know for sure came form Icom.
I'd be wary of eBay, and absolutely avoid Alibaba, there's a lot of bootleg radios out there. Getting proper programming software or warranty repair will be a challenge.
If you are planning on actually using it for marine VHF use, as in transmitting, they won't have the necessary FCC certification for use in the USA. They are also missing some of the features that you should absolutely have on a marine VHF radio if you are using it on a boat.

The Icom IC-2300H is an amateur radio. There is no such thing as a marine version of the IC-2300H sold by Icom.

I asked if he wanted 1.i got these n no need to own em setting not used.
To make sure its clear i bought 3 ,1 for wife 1 for daughter 1 for me all same as well as antennas wife not going for her license cause daughter dont want hers now so im not needing to keep em.
In post #1 you say you’re looking for a new IC-2300H but you have two for sale. Still confused. BTW there is no “marine version” just the regular version. Alibaba is where you go to get a Chinese copy of something cheap, I doubt if they sell real Icom radios there.

Let me say this there is NO 2300 ICOM marine radio .i was simply offering a honest icom ic 2300 hin either new or used condition .nowhere did i say i had an icom marine radio.i simply replied n its now why are you confused ? Go back and read reread till you see what i offered i simply asked ok ???
