My new R8600 is sitting next to a Homepartol 1 scanning Ham frequencies. The Homepatrol will stop on on all Ham transmissions, then tuning the R8600 to that frequency, the R8600 acts like no antenna is connected. one specific frequency is 447.100. Picking up on the Homepatrol (and other scanners) but nothing on the r8600. What am I doing wrong? I am ready to send it back. All connections verified and tested.

How's your squelch set on the R8600? Are you seeing the signals on the waterfall display at all? What about your local WX frequency? Indoor or outdoor antenna? Try more than one?

Are you splitting the signal or does the R8600 have its own antenna? You are sure the correct antenna input is selected by touching ANT1, ANT2, ANT3 on the touch screen?
Make sure Ant 1 is selected it's the only one for frequencies above 30 Mhz.
Thanks for the input. One question, will the R8600 play well with a multiplexer? (MCA204M)

Yes, I use that same Stridsberg model and it works great.
So did you resolve the problem?
Well yes and no. Taking it off the multiplexer and direct to the antenna it works fine. Using the Stridsberg Multicoupler I get nothing. Weird?! I am trying other things. I think the R8600 is ok however.
Yes. The unit works great with 2 different Uniden Homepatrols, and Uniden SDS200 scanner also. I put a ticket into Icom to see what they recommend.

I might suspect the wiring or adapters that you use when using the R8600 with the Stridsberg.
