If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Greetings all. Would it be possible for someone to download the settings of an IC-F3S-2 into an ICF and post it?

I'm trying to bring my radios back to working stock form (or at least close to it) and so I'd like to start with a known working ICF. Either a base frequency of 150 or 174 will do. I'm fairly confident all of mine are completely way out of whack!

Thank you much in advance.

Cheers

What makes you think they are 'out of whack'? What are they doing or not doing?

Do you have the correct software? If you do, then you can build you own new file.

Just doing a reprogram will not correct any problems that should be corrected by doing a complete
service alignment with a service monitor.

I bet a couple of donuts that they have not been on a service monitor in a least 6 yrs.

If you do not have a service monitor then you need to find some one who does and get them checked before dumping a new file into it.

Well sir, there are two versions of this radio, 136Mhz-150Mhz and 146Mhz to 174Mhz. According to the documentation, one of the examples provided when using the adjust.exe program, a base frequency of 174 is provided. This is probably for the high version, and the low version I'm assuming has a base frequency of 150.

My radios (bought used) have base frequencies of 120Mhz to 130Mhz according to adjust.exe. I'm assuming the previous owner might have gotten a few radios mixed up. Anyway, I haven't been able to figure out how to change that base frequency other than cloning between a 120 radio and 130 radio and vice versa. I'd like to get my hands on a properly working ICF for this radio so I can have good foundation to work with.

Radio work (transmit/receive) but I'd like to make sure they are properly configured. Yes I have the correct software.

Thank you much for your time.
