Tune up or mike keyed and the LCD/radio shuts down. When tuneup or mike un-keyed radio stays on with LCD operational.
Any ideas appreciated.

Your getting RF back into the radio, classic problem on 20m and when mobile. Improve your ground, antenna and or power/coax cable routing.

Tnx Om fer the reply to my question.
The station is set up in the house and not mobile.
The antenna is a double Zepp with a homebrew balun.
I have been using this arrangement for over two years and
after lots of detective work have found the AC pwr supply not putting out proper voltage.
Switched to battery pwr this morning and no 'shutdowns'!!!
Very happy here that the rig doesn't have to go back to ICOM. That is always a hassle.
Best of 73'es and tnx ag.

706MkIIG Xmit Shutdown

Possibility of inadequate power available, e.g., broken power wire, high resistance connection in wire, short in 12V battery or power supply, etc.
