Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Evening all,

I'm not an Icom guy so I'm not great with the quirks. I powered up my F3261DT today for the first time in a while. Conventional systems only (FM and IDAS/NXDN), no trunking, no signaling, etc. Turned on fine, display is normal, seems to function fine. Battery is at 60%. But it keeps beeping every 1 second or so. Almost heartbeat like. Any guidance on the issue or fix?

Now, I admit, it had been carelessly left in the heat of the truck for a few days. But it seems fine besides the beep. I did try a few things. I reflashed the codeplug to the radio from the CS without issue, removed the battery then reattached it, brought it in to cool down and let it sit on the charger for a bit. But none of that helped.

Any help? Thanks!

I had the same problem with a new Icom F3400DT. Was driving me bat crackers.

Turned out to be the low battery warning I had configured. Took a little troubleshooting as the battery level was at 48% so I initially went in a different direction (thought it had something to do with Priority Scan). Then I had an epiphany and let it fully charge and viola, the infernal beeping stopped.

Hope your issue is as simple!
