To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the transmitting power to a lower level on the Icom F5021 via computer software or even on the radio?

Thanks.

Yes, using CS-F3020/5020 you can change between High, Low2 and Low1.

Although I couldn't find it in the help files, I believe this is 50, 25 and 5 watts, respectively.

You can also program one of the programmable front panel buttons to "High/Low", which lets you toggle between the programmed power settings.

Hi Kim,

Yes you can as follows:

1; you can program ch1 for 50w TX output power.

2. Ch2 25 watt.

3 Ch3 5 watt.

by default from the factory. it is set in Memory Channel. Hi:50w. L2:25W. and L1 :5W.

The simplest way is in Memoty Ch Zone1, after you enter your RX TC frequency, CTCSS tone, TOT,
and next is RF Power , this is where you select yoyr out put TX power by right mouse click on it, edit and
change each channel to your desired by choose HI, L2 and L1.

The second option is you can set all 3 channel at 50 watts, and then you assign a HI/L2/l1 button in the Front panel to change from HI50w to L2:25w and L1:5w.

The third option is just say you want TX o/p:30W how do we do that.

After you set 3 channel frequency and select TX at HI.

Now you need RF Bird wattmeter to connect to your radio F5021 antenna connector and do as follows:

1. Open your Icom F5021 software ver 3.2.
2. Connnect your USB interface cable
3. Read your radio first as always.
4. click on the red screwdriver on the nav bar. Then you see Utility is activated now clik OK, you then see the Adjust Utility pop up on the left, double click on it to open Adjust utilit setting open on the right..You will see Adjust with Power HI;186, Power L2:125, and Power L1:57.

Click on 186 area use left and right arrow to adjust down to 143 for 30 watt.

I Hope this help.

HP from Calgary.
