I was given a radio from an SK estate. It powers up fine and receives fine. When I attempt to transmit nothing happens. I noticed the buttons on the keypad don’t light up either. I did try the reset and still nothing. I also put a new mic cable on it since the old one was badly worn. Still nothing. I have a known working mic from my IC-7000 that I can try tomorro. I know it’s not the same but from what I’ve read the only difference is the silicon keypad wording.
Has anyone seen this problem before? It appears that there in no power going to the mic. This radio is too old for Icom to repair. Is there another shop that will repair older radios?
