I would like to see icom offer more display type color schemes.

There appears to be space in the display type menu to do this.

Maybe so you could choose your own colors .

You can modify the IC-R8600 screen colors.

If you don't have an SD Card then skip to the bottom of this message and just click on the link. If you have an SD Card, backup all your settings using an SD Card inserted into the IC-R8600. Doing this allows you to revert back to the way you've gotten your IC-R8600 setup in case you mess things up.

Press 'Menu'
Tap on 'Set'
Scroll down one screen and tap on 'SD Card'
Tap on 'Save Setting'
Tap '<<New File>>' or tap on an existing an backup file i.e. 'Set20180101_01' -- you'll be prompted to overwrite the existing file. The choice to overwrite is yours.

These settings are pretty cool. Click the link below. Read the document, it's pretty self explanatory.

You can change the colors to suit yourself.

My wish is for the price to come down to around $1900.00 MSRP with a street price around $1500.00

Would Like To See.....

As far as I know, it is not yet available, but would like to see the 8600 have built-in DMR and Yaesu Fusion decoding. While the D-Star feature is nice, the majority of digital amateur radio repeaters here in the New York City area are either DMR or Fusion. There is also a lot of DMR business band activity.
