ICOM IC207 and USB?

I have the RT systems software and the original serial cable to program my old but still working fine IC-207 dual band mobile. Problem is, as we all know, laptops and netbooks don't have serial ports anymore.

Has anyone used the USB kit RT systems sells along with their old software for this radio? Or do I need to go on the hunt for a off the shelf solution?

As long as you have a serial cable that goes to to the radio then the only thing you need is a USB to serial port convertor that plugs into the laptop or netbook. Also make sure that the software to program the radio works with the version of windows you use.
