ICOM PCR2500 Vs R8500

I have the R8500 and I'm still a novice, however, What is the main differences between the two? Besides the obvious of one being a PC version. Is the PCR2500 just as good as the 8500?

I can't help you really, except to say that I've bought a PCR2500 and while browsing the internet for info on it saw a post somewhere from a guy who said he'd sold his 8500 after buying a 2500, on the basis that he was content he wouldn't need it anymore.

Not much to go on really I know.. but it helped me decide to buy a PCR2500 as I'd originally wanted a 8500 but couldn't afford it!

The main difference is that the PCR2500 is actually two receivers built into one enclosure. Performance should be about equal.

Ahhh I see. Well actually that helps alot. I've tried searching around as well. But couldnt find to much comparsion between the two. Thank you
