There are two freqs licensed to the State of Colorado with locations all over the state (mountain tops, CSP offices, Sheriff's Offices, Emergency Management offices, etc.), These freqs are 45.24 and 45.28. They are not in the RRDB.

I have just now placed them into my radio to check for activity, which I doubt I will ever hear,,,,,but you never know.

Anyone have a confirmed ID on these? If not, scan 'em and let's see what we hear.

My understanding is the following:

45.24 is Colorado EOC channel A.
45.28 is Colorado EOC channel B.
45.22 is Colorado EOC channel C.

This is a statewide emergency system however I'm not certain whether it is still used. Back in 2008, a statewide rollcall was conducted every Monday at 10:30 AM on channels A and B. Colorado mounted rangers and all sorts of other state agencies were in the rollcall. Thinking back, I wish I had kept a recording. I've had these channels plugged in my scanner for a number of weeks and have not heard anything however, back in 2008, I had an antenna with about 40-50 additional feet in height. Maybe someone can confirm whether these are still in use. I'm in Gilcrest which is a far distance from the main transmitters located I believe near Golden in Jefferson county.

These are listed in the RadioReference database under the following:
CO State Patrol (Colorado) FCC Licenses

In some state documents, this is referred to as the "DHSEM Local Government System". DHSEM stands for Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management.

It was about 4-5 years ago since the last time I heard the weekly "State EOC" Net on Mondays at 10:30 AM on 45.24 107.2 Hz in El Paso County.

It would be interesting to find out how many agencies in Colorado still have low band radios in service. Like even 1?

That would be interesting, maybe some mountain fire departments.

I wonder if this specific system under discussion is being kept alive for a future just in case scenario or actively being disbanded? As long as the KNEB978 license remains active, I imagine the system is still capable of being utilized.

I wonder why these freqs are indicated as licensed to CO State Patrol when the actual licenses (FCC database) indicate they are licensed to the State of Colorado Office of Info Technology (as are many state licenses.)

Also, many of these licenses (45,24, 45.28) have recently been renewed.

I'm not holding my breath, or the channel, to hear any traffic on these freqs. But maybe the timing will be right sometime and the scanner will stop on these freq.

Back to your/my regularly scheduled programming.

Frankly I would be very surprised if any State or local agency anywhere in Colorado still has a single low band radio in service operating on a non-ham frequency. If it exists I hope someone can tell us about it.
