I bought a 20 foot tower, with a 10 mast and tilt over base from a guy on Craigslist yesterday. I'm trying to identify the manufacturer of this tower and the size of the top mast so I can replace the damaged section with a new piece and possibly replace the tilt over base plate

Any ideas?

I plan to sand, prime and paint this tower and use it for a scanner and small TV antenna for OTA reception of the local digital channels.

Isn't this tower missing Rohns patented "Z" braces?

Correct, it's not a Rohn tower due to the type of braces. It's a standard light load TV tower that's seen in many rural areas. Generally they are designed to be fairly short with only a TV antenna on them. Many are not designed for use with guy wires (they'll pop the brace welds in strong winds) but braced to the side of the house for additional support.

Clean it up and check all welds and the support tubes for damage. Give it a coat of paint and it should do fine for a TV antenna and a small scanner antenna if it's installed and supported well.

That's the plan. Clean it up, give it some paint, stick a TV antenna and a scanner antenna on it and brace it against the house.

However, I was looking to find the manufacturer because I may need a new base plate for it. The guy I bought it from had the fold over base plate just bolted to a concrete slab. It's pretty rusty and a little bent.

Also, do any of you guys know the size of the pipe that fits in the top of the mast? I'd like to order or buy a new one.
