Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello,

I just did a test on my DM3600 = XPR 4550
I live in France

he will not turn properly

enhancement menu:
*
it was
On / Off or ignition
The radio turns on and off depending on the ignition detection or power button.
*

I selected "On Ignition only" after rewriting it lights up then turns off directly
I can not reflash ...

Ignition only on the radio turns on and off according to the ignition detection. The power button of the radio is ignored.

is it possible to write again or reset...
best regards
Jérome

You have to apply 12V to pin 25 of the rear accessory connector. The regular power to the radio should remain on constant 12V and use switched power for pin 25. This way, when you turn your car off, the radio will turn off and when you turn the car on, the radio will turn on.

I use this feature on my 4550 in the car. When I start the car, the radio turns on. When I park the car, & turn off the key the radio turns off. But if I'm sitting in the car, & the engine isn't running [only possible in the winter] then I can turn the radio on, or off using the power button. For the 4550 in my house, I didn't use the ign sense wire.

Did you select ignition only? If so, then you'll have to apply power to pin 25 as well as the main power plug to get the radio to power on.

You can get them on Ebay for about $4.00.

If you have an XPR8400 programming cable, then you can add a pin for 12V on Pin 25 and use that to program the radio.

Then you may also have to push the power button. Otherwise, something else may be going on.

23 is the wrong pin. That is Emergency.

Are you enabling 12 volts to the red lead and pin 25 at the same time? Won't work. Apply power to the red lead and give the radio a second or two to "wake up", then apply power to pin 25.

Oh boy. Something is not right. You may have accidentally applied 12V to a pin that was not suppose to get 12V. 23 is not suppose to get 12V, so I'd stop doing that right now. It is not making matters better for your radio.

Ramal121 is correct. If you install the radio with this option, you should leave the power to the main leads on at all times and use switched power to power on the radio via Pin 25.

Hi, I did a mistake in my codeplug by activating the Follow Inition only fonction.. I dont have the 25 pin adapter,, what can i do?? Thanks!
Simply unactivate the follow ignition only function. I have my base radio in the house set this way, so the radio comes on, & off with the push of the power button. However in the car, I do use the follow ignition function, so my radio goes on, & off with the ignition key.
