IMPD/IFD went silent for me

About 7pm last night (01/03/14) I stopped hearing anything but faint clicking as my BCD396T scans and stops on a signal. The readout looks normal, like the reception is as it's always been, just -- no audio.

Did the system get reconfigured or is it just me not hearing anything?

Edit: Huh, removed batteries, put them back in, and audio has returned.

Did you also try it on the WX Channel ??
Did you try it with an external speaker

Could be a couple of issues
a. Stuck External speaker jack
b. Audio drivers gone
c. Bad Antenna connection (altho you say it stops)
and this would just be the begining..

Has the speaker when it works or worked had some crackling, static to it? That has usually been the precursor to a speaker failure ive heard it and read that is common.
I strongly feel your speaker is on its last legs.

Plug in some earbuds or what you have into the headphones jack. If you hear audio which IMO you probably will as Ive seen others who brought their radios to me have had the same problem.
If you do hear something when the speaker isnt working, your speaker is shot. Its the one weak point on the T and even XT lines. Seen three brand new XT's speakers fail within a day or two!
