Picture of an antenna system a top the local mall. Can anyone opine on the potential use?

Thanks

The top beam looks like it might be for 800 MHz and the bottom beam looks like it might be for UHF. Without knowing anything else, that's all I can try to help you with, other than mentioning that you could possibly look up their frequencies in the FCC database.

The bottom one looks exactly like the 800MHz Yagi's that Nextel installed on some of our buildings to feed the bi-directional amplifier system to supplement coverage.
If that is an 800MHz, then it would make sense that the top was 1900 or so.

These are likely being used for in building cellular coverage enhancements.

If it was Nextel (or their installers) you can confirm this by lightly touching the coax cable. The entire connector will fall apart as confirmation. All the ones I've found on our sites have incorrectly installed connectors held together with gobs of electrical tape.

I have to agree. The bottom antenna is likely 800MHz, and the top antenna is likely 1900MHz. Probably for a DAS system for in building cellular coverage improvement.
