Indian Point - Frequency for remote siren control

If you hear something that sounds like a diesel idling on a regular dispatch frequency, then that is probably the remote siren control. For example, the sirens for Ginna are triggered by Monroe County on the main county fire dispatch channel.

Looking at the photo of the siren that was manufactured by the American Signal Corporation (ASC). Judging from the size of the siren, which looks like a "Penetrator 123" and the elements on the Yagi-beam, I would have to say that siren is more than likely controlled on VHF High-band. Moreover, ASC has a system they call "CompuLert SCADA," which allows communities and nuclear power plants to effectively manage every element of their warning system.
