My landlord doesn't allow for outdoor antennas. I need to improve my reception. At a later date I hope to have a window mount antenna with suction cups on the window. I need some ideas for the right coax at 850-860MHZ frequencies. I need a 25 foot run with one end having a SMA-F connector and a SMA-M on the other end. It can't be solid core like standard RG-58.

It looks as if you would like to remove the rubber antenna from your scanner and put on the end of a coax.
First try with your scanner at the window. Does it work as you want? Try opening the window and hold the scanner out the window. I guess you should have your antenna on the outside of the glass to improve reception. You already have one of the special 800MHz antennas that have better performance than the stock antenna?

I recommend RG6 coax and have flexible pigtails at the end to match your sma connectors. The pigtail coax are probably thin enough to be routed out the window and then weather proof the connector. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BqMJrA-ZhE

Look in the ebay store of customcablesstore for other cables and adapters that might be suitable, or search ebay-amazon for f-sma pigtail that might have lower cost.

I think RG-6 would be great but still a bit too stiff. The pig tail idea wouldn't last long because of the orientation of my setup. The flat antenna designed for window use would be okay on a dry day but when it gets wet I don't trust the connector outside the window will be waterproof. The shield of the connector will corrode. I really need stranded core coax with 50 ohm impedance. I prefer to have the antenna I hope to order to mount with suction cups on the inside of the window. The computer is 14 feet from the window so not much noise from it.
