• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Motorists who receive minor parking or traffic tickets in Indianapolis, Indiana are being threatened with fines
of up to $2500 if they attempt to take the ticket to court. A local attorney with the firm Roberts and Bishop
was so outraged by what he saw in Marion County traffic court that he filed a class action suit yesterday
seeking to have the practice banned as unconstitutional.

The city of Troy, MI (which is broke), is running a little bit different scam. If you decide to go to court, they schedule you a court date. Then all the people challenging tickets are called in front of the magistrate at once and he then informs you that he doesn't do anything with traffic tickets so either pay it with an explanation or take it up with the Secretary of State.

The city of Troy has threatened to lay off cops and firefighters because their finances are in such shambles, and Troy is one of the most wealthiest communities in the entire state.
