Hey guys, just thought I would give you all a heads up. IPD's homicide unit will be featured in a new show called "The shift" on Discovery's Investigation Discovery (ID) channel starting 12/21. They are being called in a promo one of the best homicide units in the nation. So far it looks like it's the only city featured. Should be good.

Actually, I remember reading something about another crime reality show choosing to feature IMPD Homicide because they have a very high clearance rate relative to the national average.

Glad to see another TV show about Indianapolis! Would like to see new episodes of Cops and Police Patrol on IMPD in Indianapolis.

I think that this is a good thing to show how violent Indianapolis really is. I think that along with good press, that there is also bad press, and this might be some. I never understood why cities would allow TV shows such as Cops, First 48, etc to come in and show the lowest side of the community.

It is good to watch though ;)

Likewise, I have scheduled my DVR to record this. For those of you with later-model DirecTV DVRs, you can set up recordings remotely by logging into their web site, finding the show you want to record in the program guide, and then clicking the button to schedule the recording. Works great!
