Many folks have iPhone 14 and newer, but don't know about the built in satellite messaging capability. Could be a lifesaver in the conditions in western NC.

I believe the above video just covers emergency use cases, unless I missed it.
As of iOS 18 Apple is allowing FREE non-emergency text messaging over satellite when out of cellular coverage. I’ve heard they will eventually charge for this feature.
I used it last weekend while on a fishing trip and it worked flawlessly. I see this disrupting the personal locator beacon market. I have one of those Zoleo devices but I don’t see myself needing to use it going forward.
