Like mmckenna said, sometimes the biggest problem is an old dos computer !!! Was for me with CDM & HT radios !!!!!!Thanks for adding the model numbers.
Those are old radios, and finding a shop that can still program them may be very difficult. These radios are old enough that most are in hobby use now, so finding a local hobbyists might be your best bet.
Programming requires old Motorola DOS software and an equally old computer to run it. You also need a Radio Interface Box (RIB) and the appropriate cable, or a "RIBless" cable.
Depending on what you are going to do with the radios, there may be some challenges.
"EaHa"? As in East Haven?, "33 Mitchell" No such address in East Haven, "In the Manch" ? Please elucidate as not everyone, including myself is conversant in East Havenese. If you're over in EaHa, take a ride over to 33 Mitchell in the Manch and ask them real nicely if they have any idea who would support that hardware now...or you could call them. I'd take a trip, as showing up in person with the hardware might get you a better result than calling and getting some phone jockey who has no idea what you're talking about.
The world does not revolve around the Havens, sorry!"EaHa"? As in East Haven?, "33 Mitchell" No such address in East Haven, "In the Manch" ? Please elucidate as not everyone, including myself is conversant in East Havenese.
I'm guessing he was referring to East Hartford with the EaHa (pretty close to Manchester)."EaHa"? As in East Haven?, "33 Mitchell" No such address in East Haven, "In the Manch" ? Please elucidate as not everyone, including myself is conversant in East Havenese.
I would agree and the world should definitely not revolve around East Haven. But, it should not take a cryptographer to decipher a post. The world does not revolve around the Havens, sorry!![]()
