• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Hello,

I currently live on Whidbey Island and I am able to listen to some communication between ICOM and other's at times. I am not sure if I have all of the frequencies that are used in Island County. Here is a list of what I have programmed:

458.675 Island County Sherriff / Sheriff Dispatch (Countywide)
154.13 ISLAND CO EMER SVCS COMM CENTER*
460.575 Oak Harbor Police / Police Dispatch
465.575 Oak Harbor Police
453.05 ISLAND CO EMER SVCS COMM CENTER*
155.37 Law Enforcement interagency
155.505 WSP Skagit/Island County Dispatch
154.935 WSP Car to Car
154.34 FIRE-1 County Fire/Medical Dispatch
153.755 FIRE-2 North Island FD#2
154.175 Fire-3 South Island FD#3 /County Fire - Tactical Operations
154.355 Fire-5 Central Island
153.935 Utility - Traffic control at incidents
458.05 ISLAND CO EMER SVCS COMM CENTER*
458.475 ISLAND CO EMER SVCS COMM CENTER *

In the UHF bands, if you see the same suffix frequency up by 5mhz that's likely a repeater input. So you don't need those.

The 453.475 is probably one you missed.

So from your list:

Repeater Outputs (What you want to listen to)

453.05 ISLAND CO EMER SVCS COMM CENTER*
453.475 ISLAND CO EMER SVCS COMM CENTER ***CHECK FOR THIS
453.675 Island County Sherriff / Sheriff Dispatch (Countywide)
460.575 Oak Harbor Police / Police Dispatch

Repeater Inputs (Don't bother with these)

458.05 ISLAND CO EMER SVCS COMM CENTER*
458.475 ISLAND CO EMER SVCS COMM CENTER *
458.675 Island County Sherriff / Sheriff Dispatch (Countywide)
465.575 Oak Harbor Police

PS. Not to be picky, but when giving a freq list it helps (with reading) to order the frequency from lowest to highest. ;)
