Listeners in the Connersville area, keep your ears open. Sept 1 ISP Connersville is closing and being taken over by Pendleton. Not sure if Versailles will begin dispatching them then or if Indy will still dispatch them until things are all done with the Regional Dispatch Centers

With Connersville closing I think Hamilton & Hancock Counties become a part of District 52 on Sept 1st. I'm not sure where they will dispatch the new Dist 51 from. I'm sure radios will be reprogramed this week to load new talkgroups. I know times are changing but I'll miss the old posts!

8-30-2010 8:37PM Monday.I am already hearing radio traffic on Dist 52 with a Dist 41 Unit at the Shelby/Decatur County line about a 45 Mph Construction Zone with the lights flashing and no one is around.Dist 52 is checking with INDOT as to why the sign is still showing 45MPH and no one is around.

So when D51 picks up the Connersville D41 counties, will Hamilton County then switch to D52 at the same time, or does that not happen until November? The article I read was not clear on when the Hamilton County switch would take place.

I think Hamilton & Hancock become a part of Dist 52 Wednesday morning at midnight when Connersville closes.

Thanks, that's what I was wondering. I shouldn't have to change any programming in my scanners, since the Hamilton County ISP units will probably be switching over to D52 TGs.

The Connersville Newspaper reports the post closes at Noon today:
"Around noon today, Indiana State Police First Sgt. Todd Fields will lock the doors for the last time to one of the oldest Indiana State Police posts in the state."

Connersville post closing

From the 'ol Hometown newspaper.........there are some pictures of the Ceremony on the site Homepage » Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE —

The Indiana State Police Post serving our area relocated from Rushville to Connersville in 1938. Since that time, the post known as “Old Post 6” has been a fixture south of Connersville on State Road 1. That changed at 2 p.m. Tuesday following a formal ceremony when the doors were locked and the lights turned off for the last time.
