Issue with BCT8

I bought a used BCT8 on eBay a month or two ago. This is my third BCT8 and I have no problems with the first two. After a while working correctly, the scanner now has trouble playing the audio it picks up. Sometimes it is broken and almost sounds like it's underwater, and sometimes no sound is audible at all when it stops on an active talkgroup. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix it, or am I better of getting a new one?

That sounds like a digital trunked radio system,you might have not setup the system correct or the radio is having a hard time decoding the system.Now another possibility is that the speaker is going.

It's trunked but analog. Probably is the speaker. Is it possible to buy them and replace it myself?

Before you go opening up the scanner and replacing the internal speaker, try plugging an external speaker into the EXT SP socket on the back panel.
