• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Thats the serial # from the one online. The serial # on this one is 257393, vintage 1968.
Upon closer inspection, the little red "jewel" on the top is missing and the little red knobby on the right hand side of the bug is missing. No idea what its for or where it connects. It still works just fine. For a quarter, the woman sold me an old straight key manufactured by Signal Electric Mfg co from Menominee Michigan. I believe its the model R-48. Everything is tight on it too.

More yard sale sightings.....

Saw these 2 scanners at yard sales this weekend.

Uniden Bearcat SC150 with the usual 2 sets of headphones.... asking $50!

Radio Shack Pro-433................ asking $95!

Insane asking prices so I passed on even making offers.
