Hello radio friends,

I'm out of range of Jax-Duval Co. The database shows 3 systems in Duval Co: the original mixed analog-digital system; the P25 replacement system, and a smaller system for Jacksonville Beach.

Almost all of the traffic on the P25 system is encrypted, and some of it is TDMA.

Can anyone help with info?

1. Are fire dispatches still simulcast on 460.575?

2. Is the analog-digital system still being used, and what agencies/talkgroups are used?

3. Is the Jacksonville Beach system still used, or will JB switch to the county's digital system?

4. Are there any other conventional channels to monitor public safety?

5. Are there any local scanning websites that have accurate info for Jacksonville area?

Thank you.

It's been 10 months I haven't lived around that area.

1. I believe they still use 460.575

2. As of P/S they are this system
Jacksonville City Public Safety - First Coast Radio (Project 25) Trunking System, Jacksonville, Florida - Scanner Frequencies

3. I'm not sure if they are still on Analog but did hear about them switching over digital but do see BCHPD is ENC on this system
Jacksonville Beach Public Safety Trunking System, Jacksonville, Florida - Scanner Frequencies

4. I don't see no P/S using Conventional Channels. You can try to listen to EARS 155.850

5. This is the only site I know of has accurate info. *Or you can try yahoo groups I believe its jax scan covers NE FL and South GA area.

1. Dispatches still on 460.575.
2. Some of the Fire TG's are not encrypted, I'm just out of range and only monitor when I'm in the Jax area.
3. Jax Beach is a mixed system, Fire/EMS is not encrypted.
4. I haven't heard anything on EARS.
5. The Yahoo group is not that active.

I do not think HEARS is used anymore as I have heard anything on it. My ham radio has the freq and I have heard nothing.

You will still hear dispatch on uhf

As for the P25 system I agree with what others have posted, you will hear some stuff about 20% of the time if luckly.

One thing of interest, when Jax has bad weather and the EOC is activated, you can hear them with no problem and hear how bad damage is around town.

My two cents
