At 3 local malls I have found the same 4 frequencies licensed to JCP and all transmit a coded identifier each half hour. They identify in this sequence, so I refer to the frequencies as F1 thru F4 in this sequence:
F1 467.225 Clerks & supervisors
F2 466.9625 Loss Prevention
F3 461.5875
F4 461.7125

I have never heard any transmissions other than the identifier on F3 or F4. Does anyone have any info on what these frequencies are used for?

Ron-
Might help us out if you let us know in which of NC 100 Counties you heard this radio traffic...there are a lot of JCPennys in our wonderful state :)

My monitoring has been at Hanes Mall (Winston-Salem), Four Seasons (Greensboro) and Oak Hollow (High Point) but my guess is that the same are used in most/all JCP locations, and thus hoped other monitors would have heard traffic that would help complete the picture.

Most of the NC licenses I see in the FCC ULS for JCP cover 5 frequencies, with some variations in frequencies assigned.

Kind of strange for anyone to transmit an identifier when the license only covers 4-watt portables, and no bases.

RadioNut ... any chance you're related to this N.C. licensee on 467.225 ?

( Only kidding, RadioNut ! I'll have to give a listen next time I've got some time to kill at the Carolina Place Mall in Pineville. )
