They say that after a call.

I'm not having luck trying to figure it out by what context it's said.

In that case

if it's after a call RP ma mean Resuming Patrol as opposed to a meal break or transproting someone t headquarters.

RP is resuming patrol, PG may by DG for disorderly group, and not sure what BJ is. May by BA for burglar alarm

I agree RP is resume patrol. They definitely say PG. I've only been listening for 3 days, so hopefully after longer time I can figure this out.

Codes for JCPD

There is no real official list of codes for the JCPD. The following are some of the shortcuts used by the units and dispatchers.

IP - Intoxicated Person
EDP- Emotionally disturbed person
BA- Burglar Alarm
GOA- Gone on arrival
RP- Resuming patrol
DOA- Dead Body
MVA- motor vehicle accident.
BUS- Ambulance
FD- Fire department
MC- Jersey City Medical Center
SOW- sent on way

If I think of any more I will add them later.

I would also add DG = disorderly group. That seemed to be one of the most common things I would hear when I lived in JC a few years ago.

JCPD Codes

This is a call sign for a special detail unit. It stands for Bureau of Justice Administration which is the funding agency through a grant.. Sometimes they are walking units assigned to certain locations based on crime stats and other times they are mobile units assigned to a section of the city again based on crime stats.

Does whoever posted the Jersey City info 2 years ago, have any updated info? Specifically talkgroups. I'm hearing construction job chatter on A-INVST 1 TG. So I can only guess JCPD made some changes. Also 3/4 of the TG's listed aren't used. There's only about 8 of them that are active.

Thanks,
Bob

I am the guy who posted the info on Jersey City when the switch was made.
The designers of the system built alot of extra talkgroups into the system some of which probably will never be used. I will look in my files and forward the complete list to the administrator of the site.
There are alot of talkgroups that are full time encryption such as Narco, Street crime, SIU, IAU, ESU so you wont hear much there.
The fire department is finally on the system but still have not given up their old frequencies even though the frequencies I believe according to the license are suppose to be part of the trunk system.
The department of public works have about a half a dozen talkgroups yet you only normally hear them on the main dpw talkgroup same thing for the Incinerator Authority they have a few talkgroups but you normally hear them on only one.
Parking authority has I believe two and they are heavily active on only one.
As I remember PD is in the 1000 range of talkgroups with parking and OEM, then FD is in the 2000 range of talkgroups, then Department of Public works is in the 3000 range of talkgroups and finally the Incinerator Authority is in the 4000 range of talkgroups.
