Hello I'm from Pittsburg, KS just up the road from Joplin, MO. I spent Sunday the day of doing SAR in SE Joplin then came back on Thursday to do SAR it's just completely destroyed, I don't even know how to describe the damage. I wanted to take some time to post some frequencies while I'm resting up getting ready to go back and help out.
Ham Radio.
147.000 + seems to be the most active ham freq at this time i know they are using some simplex channels but I'm unsure of which ones.
147.210 + and 145.39 - are also in use.
As far as public safety goes the Joplin P25 system is very busy and seems to be working just fine it would be nice if someone could put this up on a internet feed the only P25 scanner i have is mounted in my car i could take it out if need be.
I have also heard traffic on 155.37 point - point / 155.475 mutual aid / 155.34 HEAR they are good frequencies to monitor.
Lots of medical / military aircraft on 119.8 joplin tower / 128.6 KC Center
The standard listings for Jasper County are all in use you can find then in the database their is no use in re-listing them here. This is up on the net with a live feed and it's been on and off it seems to be back on now the internet service in Joplin is hit and miss Cable One's head in was just to the south of the damage at 32 and main so their fiber going to the north part of town was cut. I have a friend in Carterville, MO he was on their service and it came up sometime Friday eve..
47.42 red cross channel is up and running but haven't heard much traffic on that freq. I have been trying to find national guard ops if anyone has their frequencies let me know i saw they where using their radios looks like the handheld MBITR type prc 148 or similar so who knows what freq they are on i would assume somewhere in vhf low bad or the spot just below 2mtr ham band 140-144mhz.
That's all i have i would be happy to contribute to a wiki on the event if someone has one going.
If anyone has questions PM me i will try and get back with you asap or give you a phone number if it's something important.
