SAN DIEGO (AP) - A federal appeals court has ruled that a San Diego war memorial cross
in a public park is unconstitutional.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued the 3-0 decision Tuesday in a two-decade dispute
over the cross at Mount Soledad.
In its decision, the court says the cross conveys a message of government endorsement of religion
that violates the Constitution.

In God We Trust?

This is no surprise coming from the 9th circuit. I personally think things like these are just another indication of the second coming. Really. What ever happen to commonsense ???? Does it exist anymore??

You know why the worlds "in god we trust" remain on the currency? Because they know that the paper dollar as we know it has and will become more of a number rather than a currency. I.E That plastic card you carry.

Workin' in the dark against your fellow man
But as sure as God made black and white
What's down in the dark will be brought to the light"

Ok so then that means every cross in Arlington too.

I can't believe people are so insecure that they have to ruin a war memorial because it uses an ancient symbol that existed long before Jesus walked the earth

Correct me if I am wrong- but the goverment allowing those crosses on public land is simply acknowledging that which our Country was founded on-and why not? This Country was founded on Christian beliefs-not muslim, not buddhist, not satinist...it was founded on Christian faith in God. It sets there forever, not hurting anyone. Those who hate the cross are evil anyways and satin is God's biatch-so tearing down the cross will not change THAT!

As American citizens..we CAN display any religious icon or expression ANYWHERE within the borders
of this country at ANY time.
Abridging this right is stickin their noses into the private sector, where they have no jusisdiction whatsoever. Gov. can't dictate or say..as of xxxx ( date and time ) xxxx will be the US state religion,
but that is where any authority ends.
I say" Take the crosses off of my Dad's, Grandfather's , and Mother's gravesite, and see what it gets ya."
A real quick education demonstrating what an American Patriot can do. Make my day.

Rulings like this make me sick. I am so sick of the politically correct mess the liberal atheist hate America crowd is making of this country. And the courts are catering to these God hating liberals. This is a Judao-Christian country founded on religious values and God. But, don't dare try to express your Christian belief in God because you might offend someone and the ACLU (American Commie Liberal Union) will haul you into court. meanwhile it;s okay to build a mosque on hallowed ground. We have fallen victim to the pseudo-intellectual liberal phonies.

BUT BUT BUT

It's not a Mosque, it's a community center which means they have plenty of extra rooms for making things that may or may not explode, and plenty of rooms to hold all that "charity" money that goes to the "Little Al Queda Kids" fund

And if the cops get after the "Little Al Queda Kids fund" the ACLU and the liberals might get mad for infringing on their rights to terrorize people. I guess the ACLU considers it "freedom of expression". But heaven forbid you put a cross on a war memorial to honor our brave soldiers. The lib/dums can't allow that. It might offend the sensitivities of some bunch of atheists or some Islamic extremist asses.

Well at least "In God We Trust" is still proudly displayed on our currency, well at least for now.

Actually, our Bill of Rights affords every American Freedom of Religion and the Right of Free Speech to express their beliefs. The 9th has been a cesspool of jurisprudence (even for Ka-I-Forn-Ya) yet the the magical musical group, The Nine Supremes, as not told them to get their cranium out of their rectal cavity. I do hope that the thinking of the 9th does not reflect the beliefs and desires of its residents. Its okay to display the flag of a foreign nation in protest but don't fly our American flag for it might offend some group of undocumented aliens or refuse to permit Christian or Jewish expressions of faith so as not to offend our peace-loving moslem extremists for fear of unearthing of the ACLU from its unhallowed grave. It just makes you weep - for these clowns are supposed to be the protectors of our liberties and freedoms.

They're right about government endorsement so if they're going to remove war memorial crosses they may as well begin at Arlington.

Yeah that's got to go too, it offends Muslims. I came across this and started to wonder, then it hit me. Religion wasn't an issue in 1940.

I'll bet they won't even allow a cross at the landfill where the Bush administration signed off on dumping US Military and 9/11 victims body parts from 2001-2008.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/new...-pentagon-admits/story-e6frg6so-1226285150262

"We are deeply concerned about reports that in 2001, some unidentified portions of remains from the 9/11 attacks were disposed of in a landfill, and about the unacceptable handling of remains at Dover," the White House said.

Officials said it was unclear how many victims might be involved or whether some of the remains belonged to the Al-Qaeda hijackers.

The military had acknowledged last year that some portions of remains of fallen soldiers at the Dover mortuary in Delaware had been incinerated and sent to a Virginia landfill, a practice that was halted in 2008.
