ALL LOCK OUT

Just got my BC75XLT. Must have hit the L/O because when I hit Scan, I get All Loc Out. Followed instructions but nothing works. There are No channels entered. I even went through the "Resetting the Scanner", but still Locked Out. I read what others have tried, but I get nowhere. I think it could be that I have no channels entered? Does that make any sense? Your help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to RR. This scanner does not come with any channels programmed, so if you didn't enter one, then there is nothing to scan. This model has 10 separate banks into which you can enter up to 30 channels/frequencies in each. Follow the instructions on page 38 to enter channels. If you don't know what to enter, go to:Botetourt CountyYou should be able to program everything except the the bottom where is shows trunked systems.

For about 2 days, I had 1 channel programmed (my local sheriff's dept.). I was attempting to program the channel for the Rescue Squad, so it would scan them both...that is when the All Loc Out came on, when I hit the Scan Button. After trying to remove the Loc Out, and it wouldn't work, I done the "reset" which removed both of the programmed channels. I did just try, again, to program the 1 channel (sheriff's dispatcher) back in, but it will not work. You know how it beeps, when pressing a button, well it beeps on the numbers, but Not on the Func or the Pgm button. It stays silent and the channel is not programmed. Hit Scan and back comes the All Loc Out on the screen.

Maybe you have locked out the bank. Press scan and then the bank number. If you put the 2 frequencies in bank 1, press 1. If that does not solve the problem, let us know.

No. That didn't work either. As I have no idea what, or why, I am doing I tried to Press scan and then all of the bank numbers. There are not numbers there that I would have entered. Scan only gives me the
All Loc Out.
Tried the Resetting The Scanner again. I thought it would clear any information that may be in the scanner, but I just don't understand. Is there a way to just go back to the factory settings, if there are any?
Thanks for your assistance.

He would not be able to program Virginia Statewide Agencies Radio System (STARS) as that is Trunked and P25. The BC75xlt does neither of those. That is where your link takes your to.
Are you using any software to help program it?
Nice video by Uniden on how to program it manually.

Sorry about the link error. This is the correct link Botetourt County,
If you followed the reset instructions on Page 53 step 2, it will return to factory settings. Then, you need to enter 1 or 2 frequencies in order to get rid of the all lockout msg. You said you were not able to enter them. Take a look at the video that kd7ckq provided and you should be able to enter.

Well, I was wrong. I watched the video a number of times and set up 3 frequencies. The scanner will only pick up 1 of them, and not the one I wanted. So, reset again. Tried to put in the 1 that I wanted. It won't let me. So, reset again. Hit Hold, #1, Hold, 460.312 (then the l/o comes on), hit Func + E and nothing...they don't even beep.
Seems like the 460.312 is Locked out, but going through the procedure to remove the Lock Out, on that number, it just doesn't work.
The very 1st day I got this scanner, it worked fine, but only for 460.312 and when I tried to enter in another frequency, that's when it went to pot.

OK, don't want to wear out me welcome. I did enter 460.312 (local sheriff department that "was" transmitting about every 2 or 3 minutes), clicked on Scan, and started waiting. It's been 15 minutes and not a peep. It's just not picking up anything.

Going to lay it down for a couple days and let my pee brain reset.

Thanks

The correct frequency is 460.3125. Try that instead. Not sure why it is giving you a lock out msg when entering 460.312, but it is the most obvious thing to try.You need to look at the frequencies listed on theBotetourt County, page and enter them as shown.
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=2831
Also understand that each frequency has a different level of activity. Some frequencies may only transmit twice a day, and others ever few minutes, so don't think there is a programming error if you don't hear something right away.

"Hit Hold, #1, Hold, 460.312 (then the l/o comes on), hit Func + E and nothing...they don't even beep. "

Try: HOLD, 1, HOLD, FUNC, E, 460.1375, E, SCROLL to next channel, 460.3125, E, SCAN

Thanks

if your following that procedure above, then it's wrong.
1) after resetting scanner, push the Hold button once.
2) press the channel # you want to store your new Freq. in. Example " Press 1, then Hold"
3) after entering the channel # you want to put it in. Now enter Function followed by the E for enter.
4) Then enter 460.3125 then E for enter.
5) use the dial on top to move to channel 2.
6) No need to enter Func then E. Just enter your next freq. followed by E for Enter.

also, Install your programming software. Much easier than manually entering things. Plus, you could post your file and we can edit it for you.

When you get your Programming Software installed and your drivers installed. Here is a BC75XLT file for you.
Bank 1 is three freq.'s for your County Sheriff and Bank 2 is your local Fire Dept..
Download it and unzip it.
