• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Hi All

has anyone heard any FBI comm's on 163.9375 mhz ? I picked up an agent passing through Libby on that frequency awhile back. I think the PL tone was 100.0 which I thought was kind of weird as the normal tone the FBI uses is 167.2. He was talking to a dispatch lady. Nothing serious. Have not heard anything since.
I think he was using an moblie repeater.

163.9375 would be an input
However the FBI has long moved to P25, generally $167 for the NAC, but the PL was 167.9

100.0 would point to me, you likely were hearing a Canadian user (different band plan, not 12.5 Khz) or an image from 152 Mhz (depending on your scanner make/model)
