Buckskinner33 posted the following freqs for the KTA the other day- I am confused as they don't match up with the limited info in the database.

Sedgwick KTA -154.68000 - FM
SumnerCo.KTA -154.83000 - FM
ButlerCo.KTA -154.90500 - FM
Pike T/A -155.47500 - FM

Does the KTA actually have multiple repeater sites and freqs identified by county up and down the length (like the KHP 800 conventional system)? If so, does someone have a good list of their freqs and locations? Anyone have any info on them switching to 800 in the future- I though I had heard some rumors of that.

Thanks!

YES... They do. There is a repeater at every terminal and theres a standared CALL IN freq that links them.... I am missing Emporia, El Dorado, Topeka and anything else up to KC on the Pike.

I would like an updated list as well.

go here for turnpike freq info

http://metroscan.net/scanner/ksmodot.htm

The repeaters are alternated up and down the pike
The listings shown on the metroscan page are for the KC- Topkea Metro areas but are in fact the same ones used up and down the pike.

Ks TurnPike freqs ( indicate trooper car channel #s)

151.0850 (179.9) Kansas Turnpike Maint & Toll Booths East of Lawrence ( Ch 4 )

151.1000 (179.9) Kansas Turnpike Maint & Toll Booths West of Lawrence ( CH 5 )

154.8300 (151.4) Kansas Turnpike Hi-Way Patrol & MAV Units East of Lawrence (Ch 1, 6, 11 is t/a )

154.6800 (151.4) Kansas Turnpike Hi-Way Patrol & MAV Units West of Lawrence(Ch 2, 7 )

154.9050 (151.4) Kansas Turnpike Hi-Way Patrol & MAV Units Lawrence Area (Ch 3 )

158.9100 (151.4) KTA KHP Turnpike Patrol (REPEATER Input ALLSITES )

channle 11 is the car to car talk-around.

I have never seem em use pd mu aid 155.475 except for inter-agency comms(and very rarely at that)
the freqs shown & ch numbering scheme, was read right out of a troopers car radio with RSS.

also provided is KDOT 800 mhz stuff too... it too was a read from a live radio.

and no the "troop g turnpike patrol" has no plans for 800 mhz any time soon.

enjoy

Question

Quick question. To monitor the KHP all the way through the state should I monitor the repeaters or the lo band freqs?

HEHE... Every once in a while Ill here something on there but I always thought it was freebanders from 6m chatting. But yes your are correct that is the VHF Lo band portion. I always assumed that anything below 400 MHz was LOW band.

Our old radios used to get Ford county fire every morning at 7:00 AM to here them do there roll call. 156.790 MHz, And UGH the intermods from the pager towers... What a mess. So when I call this LO i mean it MORALY.
