• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

The CCs shown in the database are from a real Batwing radio.

Those are all you need to program your scanner to function correctly.

You really don't need them all. But if you want to go ahead and do the entering of all the freqs, it will just eat up scanning performance, because your radio will have to scan 'em all to get back to the CC to see the next Talk Group Activity ( it just slows down your scanning experience).

Only for EDACS and LTR do you need all the channels and in the right order.

A couple of those freqs are current Grandview. If you program them you'll also hear them on their system. I don't think it will follow both. The scanner just picks up on next cc then monitors it from there.
