Does anyone have any info?
I'm more interested in the type of system existing at the base - SmartNet/SmartZone, Analog/Digital, APCO 25 . . .

Anyone?

You need to click on the RR Database up top and choose MS and then select HARRISON. If you click on the Federal link in there you'll see a list of KAFB data...

Also you can get the same info, as well as stuff I'm constantly updating on a daily basis on my list of frequncies.

http://www.nexusradio.us/freqs

I live about 2 miles from Gate 7 and Have been actively monitoring Keesler since 1986. There are no known trunked systems on base. I have YET to find any control channels in the gonvernment spectrum which would indicate a trunked radio service on Keesler. Keesler is using mostly VHF frequencies 138~144mHz and 148~151mHz and 163~175mHz.

Some units on base are APCO-25 Using Motorola ASTRO Sabers with added protection of AES. Most noteable are all 81st SFS communications, and 81st Commander's Net. KMC's medical net is APCO25 but it's in the clear. I haven't heard AFOSI in a long time. Most other activities on base are going to be in the clear and any scanner can intercept. For example, Base Ops (flightline) is on 149.5000 repeater.

Check out my freq list. I have some things on there not put on the Database here as of yet. As I am encountering new comms each day I'm holding off on submitting updates until I have more data.

Hey Mad Titan, you wouldn't happen to be a Student assigned to the 338th Black Knights would you? If so then I'm fairly familar with that Unit. My Dad use to be a Master Instructor and he was teaching Ground Radio in Jones Hall when he finally retired. He also use to be the 338TTKG webmaster. Prior to teaching ground radio, he taught GCCS/SCOPE CONTROL I & II in Wolfe Hall. Boy I use to have fun playing with those GCCS consoles. :D

Why the shock over Gate 7? LOL that's just an easier way of saying I live off of Pass Road in Biloxi lol.. Actually I live by the Mall, and work down the road from the base.

'94 aye? Well who were your instructors? My dad was still teaching Ground Radio in 1994. He retired in 1997 actually. Also just curious, if you're not here, what's your interest in KAFB frequencies now?

Yeah, I was stationed at Shaw AFB in SC and did some work with Charleston.
When I was stationed at Whiteman in Missouri I did some work on the GWEN system around OKC.
I'm currently stationed at Carswell in Fort Worth and I'm comparing some system issues with other units.
I'm just trying to find other bases that use the 380-470 MHz.

Pass Road had everything! I ate breakfast at the McDonald's right outside the gate almost every weekend - usually hung over.

Dang. Instructors?
I honestly couldn't tell you off the top of my head. That was 10 years ago.
I did my 4 months of theory at Alley Hall and then 2 months of specialized training.

Camp Shelby has 2 systems. A 406 mHz trunk systems. And another system, believed to be 800 SMR type. Check the MS Database or maybe MILF can help you more. I'll check with my ex-fire chief and see if he has any info.

Camp Shelby has its OWN UHF TRS... The other system you refer to is the Forrest County TRS. They do have TG's on it.. but rarely use it sticking to thier own digital system.
