I am trying to find the type of connector that Kenwood used on many of their HF rigs and also the 30 series radios. It looks very similar to an Amp Mate-n-Lok or a Molex MLX series and I assume there are other manufacturers as those are kind of industry standard. Both series of connectors have 3 round plastic pins and 3 D-shaped plastic pins that surround the actual terminals.

However, on the Kenwood version, it has the two opposed D-shaped ones pointing in a different direction than is common with the Amp/Molex type.

The connector seems to be made by JST, same as the current ones on the 90 series and all the commerical radios. However, I was not able to find it in their enormous catalog (yet).

Anybody know what the model number or letters is for this series connector?

Like this?

Or, here is a photo of a do-it-yourself plug from qsradio.com.

Yes, those are the ones.

Now, where are they getting them from? I was able to get the newer, rectangular pin version (VL or VS?) straight from Digi-Key. What is the series name of these older ones so I can do the same thing?
