I tried crimping an RJ45 connector my Mc 53 microphone with no luck had a friend do it he also had no luck I was reading it might be because of the stranded wire in the microphone cable does anyone think that I can use a junction box to add a piece of wire to make it so I can have a secondary backup microphone

Correct, some older mic cables have tinsel like wire. Better to get a new Kenwood cable and change the cable/connector out. Some mics have a little inline connector on the mic circuit board.
