Hello,
I have a NX-5000 series mobile radio installed in my vehicle along with the KAP-2 Horn/PA Board. I want to interface the radio to my Whelen Cencom Core as a PA microphone instead of using the whelen microphone. I see in the programming software where you program a soft key to access public address mode, but I'm unsure as to how to get an output from the radio that I can wire to an input on the cencom to put the siren in PA mode?
Right now, I have to put the radio in PA mode and then put the cencom in PA mode for it to work properly. I was hoping there was a way to do it with a single button push? When using the Whelen microphone you can key it at any time, and it takes priority over any siren tones that may be playing, or if the cencom is in standby mode.
Hoping someone has done this before and can explain what I am missing.
