I think I've seen this feature but can't seem to find it in the help file. I just want to lock the face of the keyboard.

Good Question. I dunno either. If there's not, needs one. Also needs a quick mute button. IMHO

Key Lock

I keep trying to take the radio off my belt and I keep fingering the keys. I guess you could use the password but that's hassle.
Yes good thought about the mute button I hadn't thought about that but it would be a good thing.

There IS a quick mute option... you simply push the left arrow button during transmissions and it goes into the menu screen, at least on the WS1080 it does. I do this when pulling up to a fast-food menu board when I need it quiet for a few seconds. A key lock would have been good, but there are other things more important that need fixing.

I know it's not the same, but you can also hold the down arrow and it'll go from 20 to actually saying MUTE on the screen within 3 seconds. What 'johnnydollar2' said also works.

Post #4 is not mute. Cancelling recording would be even more undesirable for calls you aren't going to hear.

Post #5 might be a mute, but it is hard to return from mute.

If you look at Del's videos, I think you'll agree with me that he knows how to operate his scanners.

In the meantime, perhaps they could rewrite the UI so a double tap down mutes and a double tap up restores the original volume level.

This puts the scanner in --Browser-- mode. To get back out of that, you have to hit the Play button twice and then wait for it.... wait for it... to "Preparing... Please wait" while the scanner reloads the scan lists.

Yes, that would be ideal.

I would think they could also use the 'Fn' and something else combination to do it. Just like it would be nice to have a quick way to hold on a system or site while scanning.

Something like 'Fn' + '.' is Mute and 'Fn' + 'PRI' is hold on current system.

I agree 100%. We need to put the Fn key to good use. lol I especially would like to see the "hold on current system" option.
