Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi All. I searched the forums for an answer for this problem though didn't find anything. The issue I'm having is when I try to import a csv file into KG-UX Commander, I get this error...

"Error. the CSV file you are attempting to import does not contain a valid header for KG-UV Commander! Without a valid header, the CSV file cannot be imported".

I have looked at the export file of KG-UV Commander and can see the 10 headers listed.."Name..RX Freq.." and such. I've set up those identical headers on my CSV file, and removed the extra columns, so I just end up with 10 columns named with the same 10 headers in teh Commander file. There are no spelling errors.

Has anyone had a similar issue with this software?

Thanks!! Shortwaver

Dumb question - what is KG-UV Commander? Never heard of it....what radio(s) is it supposed to work with?

I think you nailed it- I didn't know Jim had developed software for the Wouxon radios. I'll have this thread moved to the amateur radio section....Mike

That program was written by Jim Mitchell, KC8UNJ for the Wouxun radios. Not having done any importing or exporting, I can't answer the question. You might try asking Mr. Mitchell.

Thanks for the replies. I will ask Mr. Mitchell. I do feel awkward asking the author for support on "free" software, though I bet he will respond!

I'm just working on my ticket now, though I've received some great help along the way.

thanks
