Hello everybody, I live in the Kingman area and monitor the KFD and area FD's quite frequently. Up until recently I would hear the KFD units being toned out, then they would say en route shortly after and the dispatcher would give additional info. For about 2 or three weeks now, I only hear the tones and the dispatcher gives the initial information and I never hear anything else. Sometimes I will hear static for like 1 second then it goes away. The only time I can hear them is when they are using their fireground channel. I still hear the other FD"s that are on the Kingman alarm channel go en route, so I was wondering if KFD now use a new channel for response. If anybody has any information please let me know. Thank you.

Still on 155.055. The toned out groups usually respond a minute or so later when they get going. I'll give a listen again right now. Most of the time lately I leave my scanner in the tone out modes so I only have to hear the call go out.

KFD now uses an MDC's in their engines. All of their dispatch info is pushed to the engines from alarm. The rest of the area FD's still get their info from Alarm via radio. Also All of the agencies using KFD for dispatch will now be moving to an assigned channel for operations for anything other than a medical call.

Thank you for the reply, that makes a lot of sense. Do you happen to know the assigned channels for operations?

I noticed the fancy new radios on scene and the mdc blips on air lately :3
