Re: KPG-44D
It sounds more like a hardware issue. I've tested Win7 64, and noticed the same with one of my machines. I would try this first: With the USB-serial adapter plugged in, go to device manager, select the adapter and uninstall it. Unplug it from your computer, and restart it. Once the bios screen appears and before windows starts to boot, repeatedly press F8. That should give you a list of startup options. Select the option to disable forced signature of drivers.Once Windows has finished booting, plug in the adapter, and allow Windows to search for and install the drivers. Once it shows up in Device manager, double click on the adapter, select the Port tab, then Advanced. It will probably show COMM4. From the drop-down box, change it to COMM1. Click OK, and exit. With the adapter still plugged in, launch KPG-44D, and select the setup tab. You should then see COMM1, with all other ports greyed out. Click on Comm1, and OK.
If that doesn't work, give me the processor type and speed, and amount of RAM.There are several things that could be tried if that doesn't work. I've also seen some of the aftermarket programming cables not play nice with the TK-X90 series, but since you aren't able to select a comm port from the setup tab, I wouldn't worry about that yet.
