Hello Group,
I am running the Kenwood KPG-D1N software on my Lenovo Yoga 2.11 laptop which is running Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64 Bit. It has an Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU N3540 2.16 GHz x64 Based Processor and 4 GB of RAM.
I have absolutely NO issues running other KPG programs such as the KPG-111, 129, 141 or 150. However, I am having slow response and no response issues with this D1N software.
For anyone else who has the KPG-D1N software I would like to ask if you are experiencing the same issues that I am, and if not, I would like to ask what you have for hardware and/or software configuration. I have mentioned the issues I am experiencing to Kenwood and they tell me I am the first to report this. I am trying to figure out if this is a software or hardware issue. I haven't gotten fully involved in this software to know if the following are the only issues, but my initial observations are as follows.
1. Once the program initially opens showing the general layout and light blue information box, the mouse pointer arrow changes to a rotating white circle for about one to two minutes, and until the circle goes away and changes back to a mouse pointer arrow, I am unable to do anything further, I have to wait.
2. The entering of frequencies into the input box is slow, digits do not show up instantly after typing in each digit, there is delay from the time i type on the keypad to the time it shows up on the screen in the box. If I type in the entire frequency all at once, the first one or two digits will show up right away, but there is a substantial delay in the rest of the digits showing up.
3. Changing radio data or model information takes about 2 to 3 minutes before I am able to continue using the program. Its like it has a hard time 'processing' the information and has to pay 'catch up'.
4. If I try to select with the mouse pointer several different 'items' too quickly, in the upper left corner i will see "Not Responding" message. Once that happens everything stops responding and I have to wait at least a couple of minutes for the message to go away and the program to start responding again.
Thank you,
Doug
