• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I'll be in KY next week and wondering if anyone can tell me if they use AGC (i.e. on a 396) for monitoring KSP.

I'm not an expert on digital but as I undertand it makes a difference if the TX uses AGC or not. I've tried on my last two trips to Lex to monitor and I've had mixed results. Some of that may be due to low signal strength but I'm wondering if it's an AGC issue.

Thanks in advance

I listen to the KSP and I cannot tell any difference with the AGC on or off. I hear the machine gun sound and it is only after the officers transmit. Never hear it when the dispatcher transmits.

Welcome to RR.com munfordville! You can find all of the KSP frequencies using the database link at the top of the page...then go to Kentucky and under the state listing you will see "State Police"...to help you out the first time around here is the link:
